What the service does
CatfishTest checks whether photos you upload appear on publicly accessible web pages, and reports where they appear and what names are shown on those pages. The result is a description of where images appear online. It is not a determination about any person: not that they are dishonest, not that they are who they say they are, and not that they are safe.
Using the service responsibly
- Only upload photos you have a legitimate reason to check, such as photos sent to you or shown to you on a dating profile.
- Don’t use results to harass, expose or contact anyone. Use them to decide how to protect yourself.
- Don’t attempt to identify the person in a photo through this service. It is not designed for that and will not do it.
- Automated or bulk use is not permitted.
Accuracy
Reverse image search is not complete. A photo that has never been published will not be found, and a photo that is found may belong to the person you are talking to. We give you the evidence and plain-English reasons; the judgement is yours. Treat a low-risk result as “nothing found”, not as confirmation.
Payment and refunds
The headline result is free. Unlocking the full report costs the price shown at checkout, as a one-off payment processed by Stripe. Because the report is delivered immediately, there are no refunds once a report is unlocked, except where a check failed to complete, in which case you are not charged or are refunded in full.
Reports and links
A report link is valid for 30 days and is accessible to anyone who has it. Share it carefully. We may remove a report where someone shows that the photos are theirs and are being misused.
Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care but without warranty that results are complete or correct. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the report in question. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under English law.
